Matte Liquid Lipstick Comparisons Part 2

If you enjoyed my last Matte Liquid Lipstick Comparisons a.k.a the reds, get ready for another round, but this time, the browns!

I have three brown lippies to compare, LA Splash Lip Couture in Innocent Vixen, The Balm Meet Matte Hughes in Charming, and LA Girls Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Fleur. All of these are available at @all_about_authentic on Instagram. This is also the order of swatches and selfies okay?

Game on!

First up!

Which is the easiest to apply?
Actually, I have no trouble with the application of The Balm and LA Girl, but I would rank The Balm first just because I'm more used to its smaller doe foot applicator and it's the most opaque out of the three. One swipe and you're all set. LA Girl would be second -- its applicator is quite flat but still rounded at the tip to reach the sides of the lips -- formula seems a little thinner too, so second coating would be best. LA Splash Lip Couture would be the most difficult to apply for me. It seems to have the creamiest and thickest formula out of the three and the applicator is large and a little slanted. It's a little opaque, but doesn't apply evenly.

Which one is the most long-wearing?
LA Girl reminded me so much of Dose of Colors. This lippie transfers, but your lips get stained, and no matter how much you eat, at the end of the day, it's still there. Not as opaque as when first applied, but it's still there. At second place would be LA Splash Lip Couture. It's drier, definitely more matte and stays on the lips longer than the Balm. The Balm would be on the last place just because it's most moisturizing on the lips.

Do note that all of these lippies can last up to 6 hours -- can even last you the whole office day depending on what you eat/drink. Also, LA Girl actually has an instruction to use an oil-based makeup remover just because it stains. LA Splash Lip Couture, yes, please also use a makeup remover for this one. For The Balm, depending on how faded it is at the end of the day -- sometimes I can use a wet tissue.

Which one is the most comfortable on the lips?
The Balm Meet Matte Hughes. It's really the most moisturizing out of the three. It kind of hides your chappy lips and your puckers just look healthier wearing it. Lol. It also has a minty-tingling sensation on the lips and it goes away after a few minutes. P.S. I feel like my lips look fuller whenever I wear The Balm Meet Matte Hughes in Charming. Does the tingly feeling have something to do with that? Can be, not sure about that one. The mint feeling is very similar to that of Revlon Stains.

On second place would be LA Girl Flat Finish Pigment Gloss. It's not super moisturizing, but not super drying either. It can make your lips look dry, but it feels totally okay and you're not looking for a lip balm or anything like that -- unlike the LA Splash Lip Couture. Not only does Lip Couture accentuate lines and dryness on my lips, it just felt drier compared to the three after hours of wearing it. I tried re-applying it, but it was just quite hard to make it look even whenever I press my lips together. So, maybe I shouldn't? I think I should just let it dry with my lips open. Lol.

Which transfers the most?
Ugh, depends on what you ate? Lol. I believe, The Balm -- this dries matte, but when I eat, it becomes creamy again and the color can transfer easily. LA Girl stains, so it doesn't look too obvious that my lipstick transferred to the burger I was eating. Haha. Last place, LA Splash Lip Couture, being on the powdery matte and drier side among these lippies transfer the least on food and straws/glasses.

Where to get them + prices?
All are available at @all_about_authentic on Instagram for: LA Girl Flat Finish Pigment Gloss at PHP 280; LA Splash Lip Couture at PHP 550; The Balm Meet Matte Hughes at PHP 800.

Will have a separate review of these lippies just because there's more to say. I've been mixing LA Splash Lip Couture with a couple of colors and surprisingly, they look great! I'm off to bed. Good night.
