Preserving my Wedding Bouquet.

How to preserve your wedding bouquet on a budget?
That was the same question I had once our wedding was over.

I'm not big on flowers. I do love them and I'm very lucky to have received a ton during my younger years, but I never thought that I'd want to preserve my wedding bouquet.

Before we went on our honeymoon, my sister told me to keep the bible, the arrhae, the cord, the veil, the dress, and dry the bouquet. While I wanted to burn the dress or simply throw it in the trash immediately, I never thought that I wanted to keep the bouquet. It wasn't really a big deal, so I thought to myself, okay, I'll leave it in our terrace to dry until we come back from Singapore.

Weeks passed and I completely forgot about the bouquet on our terrace. It took probably about three weeks before it was completely dry and the once green leaves completely wilt and yellow. I started Google-ing ways on how to preserve wedding bouquets and I did not like the prices that I saw.

I wandered inside our house looking for things that I could use...

I found an empty plastic container with a Ferrero Rocher chocolate sticker on it. I took packets of shoe moisture absorbers, basically those free sachets whenever you buy new shoes or bags. I took some scissors and just basically started cutting and picking flowers that I wanted to keep.

I placed the lace from the bouquet first into the empty container, put the moisture absorbers in, and then I tried to cover the sachet by putting the flowers over it. I didn't keep much leaves, mostly just flowers, because the process was very messy and I already liked how the arrangement looked inside the box.

My pink wedding bouquet was composed of roses, lisianthus, and a mix-match of everything...
I requested the pink lisianthus but I gave all the "power" to Ms. Marinell of Amelia Blossoms. I just told her "bahala ka na" and she came up with this lovely pink and white bouquet.

You can see the expiration date of the Ferrero Rocher chocolates at the back of the container.

The shoe moisture absorber sachet is also noticeable in this photo. I wish that I put it in the middle of the lace, but it's totally fine with me. It's barely noticeable.

I love that my pink wedding bouquet didn't completely lose its color as there are still hints of pink. I'm not sure if it's because it rained a few times while it was drying in our terrace, or if it's just how lisianthus flowers dry up. I'm thankful that my sister asked me to preserve my wedding bouquet and I pat myself at the back for not spending any money on this.

How do you preserve flowers? Do you have any tips?
