This is actually my first time receiving a box from Althea Korea and my oh my, it seems like I've been missing out on a lot! I mean can you see that super cute box with all the pink confetti? I cannot deal... I kennat! Haha. It's just too pretty for my eyes and reminds me so much of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. I'll probably use the Althea box to store my makeup brushes or nail polishes because it's too pretty to throw out!

If you haven't heard, Althea Korea -- the beauty haven for K-beauty, just launched their first product which is the Althea Petal Velvet Powder. It comes in this cute little pink tub with a sifter which is perfect for traveling. This baby can fit in the pocket of your jeans. It also comes with a thick puff which is super soft, smooth, and super fluffy as described. I like how the puff perfectly fits inside and how it secures the powder so it doesn't spill everywhere. I noticed that the puff doesn't really absorb much of the powder and it kind of has the same feel with the puffs from cushions.

I usually put a little bit of the powder on the cap, swirl my face brush in it, and then apply it on to my face. The first thing that I noticed was that a little goes a long way. The powder is very finely milled and disappears almost immediately the moment it touches my skin. It goes on very smooth and I truly can feel the velvet and silk finish that it promises. It just makes my skin feel like a baby's butt. Lol. Aside from that, this powder smells just like petals! It's not overpowering, so don't think Victoria's Secret or Jo Malone scents. The scent is very subtle and somewhat relaxing for me. It just smells fresh and light.

As for oil control, this powder did not disappoint. As you can see on the picture above, I was wearing it for 12 hours without any re-touch. I believe it was about 4 hours before I first blotted my T-zone; another 3 to 4 hours for my whole face; and I blotted my whole face again with tissue just before I took this selfie. I also like the fact that this powder did not settle on dry patches on my skin. It didn't make my skin look cakey.

One thing that I wished though was for this powder to have more shades. I like the thought of it being translucent so that it could cater to a lot of skin tones... BUT... whenever I use this, it just makes my face look one shade lighter. It's either I need to use a darker foundation just to get my correct match, OR I would need to contour my whole face to add warmth and shadows. Sometimes I would even just use this powder on my T-zone to get the oil control benefits, and then I would apply a different powder for my cheeks. I'm kind of in a mix-and-match phase with the Althea Petal Velvet Powder.

Love the oil control. Love how smooth and light it feels on my face. And did I mention that this product is only PHP 210? Like seriously... You can check Althea Korea here and see for yourself. Final verdict, I feel like this is a more affordable and travel-friendly version of one of my favorite finishing powders. It's kind of like a dupe of this baby right here :)
