The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Review

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Review

My sister's a big fan of The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Concealer. So I thought okay, let me try out their highly acclaimed The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil too.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil can be used in many different ways to help soothe blemished skin. It has antibacterial properties and it does not dry out skin. Dab pre-blended oil directly onto skin at first sign of a blemish. Apply a small amount directly onto blemishes using a clean cotton wool bud or your fingertip. For bathing, add six drops into the bath once it has run, and disperse with your hand, for an aromatic and soothing soak.

As it turns out, products that work wonders for my sister does not work for me. I've had my fair share of using benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tretinoin, and tea tree oil to name a few... And you know what, tea tree oil just isn't the best for me. I really wanted this to work for me and my acne, but I guess my skin just isn't compatible with it.

One day while I was strolling around Festival Mall Alabang, I saw this on sale for like PHP 350 or something along those lines. I thought okay, I really wanted to try this stuff anyway, so why not buy it on sale? I was really aiming to get The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops for my foundations, but since it was out of stock, I walked away with just The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil.

It comes in a cute little bottle with a cap where you have to push it before twisting it open. I do have a little love/hate relationship with it since it's difficult to get the oil out from the "dropper" packaging without spilling some product out.

The oil is very thin and watery, so I always tend to put too much on my hands/cotton ball thus wasting product. Once applied on my acne, I find that it stings a lot and it irritates my pimples which result to it being more inflamed. I could compare it to tretinoin where it leaves my skin really red, but at least, tretinoin dries out my pimples unlike tea tree just making it swell for a few days.

This leaves me to the conclusion that tea tree just doesn't work for me and my acne. I'm sorry The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. It's not you, it's me. I know that tea tree works amazing for other people, but I'm just not part of that list.

This retails for PHP 495 on all The Body Shop counters and stores.
