Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer

This summer definitely threw a heat wave here in Manila. And for people who rarely drink water (like me) my skin felt the extremes -- heat index 50+ anyone?

I've never been fond of moisturizing. When I'm in colder countries, yes, I do use lotions, body butters and the like, just because I NEED to. Eight degrees isn't really my skin's BFF. My skin dries up and cracks.

When I'm here in the country though, I have all these excuses just to skip moisturizing. I would reason out like "malagkit!" I know you get me. It's really hot here in the country and I know you'd rather skip lotion than feel sticky the whole day. Another reason I have is "I just don't have time to let it dry on my skin." Yes, we all live hectic lives and 5 to 10 minutes of our time is really, really precious. We don't really have time to sit down, wait for our lotions to dry up and be absorbed by our skin before changing into our clothes.

Now, here's where the magic happens! The folks at Vaseline kinda heard our issues and made the Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer. It's a line of quick convenient spray lotions that moisturize deeply and absorb in seconds to heal dry skin. It comes in a spray bottle that dispenses the lotion quickly and evenly.

The Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer comes in three variants:
  • Cocoa Radiant - infused with pure cocoa butter for healthy glowing skin in seconds.
  • Essential Healing - with pure oat extracts for healthy nourished skin in seconds.
  • Aloe Soothe - contains pure aloe for soothed, calm, healthy fresh skin in seconds.

I have with me the Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer in Essential Healing. This is kind of the original one and it promises that it would be: absorbed in seconds; moisturize to help heal dry skin; instantly leave skin soft, not greasy or sticky; dispense evenly with one all-over spray.

I sprayed it on my arm, rubbed once in one direction, and after 5 seconds, it's gone. My skin immediately absorbed the micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly.

Review
Well, I think it's a brilliant product for lazy people like me who skip moisturizing.

You see, skin is the largest organ of our body. It protects and holds everything together and also acts as a barrier for the harmful substances outside. Having dry skin would lose the protective function. It could cause water loss, vulnerability to irritants, allergens, germs, and also lower flexibility which leads to early aging. To avoid all of those, basically we need to have moisturized skin and surely, the Vaseline Spray and Go is the way to go.

For the packaging, it comes in an aerosol can -- which by the way, you don't have to shake and that's already 10 seconds of your time saved in the morning :) It comes in a twist-lock, so it prevents spills and it's easy to press. As for the spray, it really does spray evenly almost creating a mist of Vaseline Jelly on to your skin. This bottle fits perfectly on your hands but it's quite big, so, not sure if it's the best for traveling. A smaller size perhaps? Please Vaseline? :)

For the formula, it's quite thin, watery, feels very light and -- the claim is true -- it's easily absorbed in seconds. It leaves my skin soft, moisturized and it's not greasy at all. If you spray it on to your skin, try rubbing it in just one direction and you'll actually feel that your skin absorbed the moisturizer already even if it's just three seconds.

I guess now, I don't have an excuse to skip moisturizing my legs! Haha. This product really delivers what it claims. What I'm eyeing would be the Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer variant in Aloe Soothe. I love everything aloe and I'm imagining that the Aloe Soothe would give a fresh, cool and moisturized skin without the sticky feeling. Might bring this to the office too since the airconditioning can be unforgiving at times.

The Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer retails for PHP 250 (184g), so be on the lookout at your personal care stores! :)
