Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Solow and Bumble Review and Swatches

Happy first of Spring everyone! Or in our case in MNL, Happy first of Summer! Can you feel the heat? Haha.

Actually, I've never been so happy and welcoming to summer. I hate hot and sweaty places ironically. Sometimes you'll find me with a fan inside the mall while walking. Lol. BUT when summer came, allergy season left. Having seasonal asthma means almost dying when seasons change, so I'm really happy right now that I don't have to take my medicines anymore :)

First up for my summer favorites are the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippies in Solow and Bumble.

Bumble - is described as a dusty warm terracotta.

MOTD: Anastasia Beverly Hills for the brows, Colourpop blush in Quarters, Stila eyeliner, Etude Hose Cotton Fit BB Cream. P.S. Still getting used to my new hair color from Pixxel. It's in the shade light blonde :)

Solow - is described as a neutral nude pink.

Description:
Step 1: Make sure your lips are bare and dry!
Step 2: Apply matching lip pencil for a precise and perfected application.
Step 3: Apply Ultra Matte Lip with the applicator or your favorite lip brush.

**For smoothest finish always exfoliate your lips first! This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips smoothly and leaves SUPER intense pigment-rich colour with a bold, ultra matte look. It's very long wearing and completely kiss proof! We suggest storing these babies upright and shaking before application!

Review
I love my Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippies! And I love the shades solow and bumble! I'm so into MLBB and nude pinks and I was worried that solow would look really light on me. Thankfully, it didn't -- and it was quite flattering. I've been wearing Solow non-stop! I was also thinking to go with Tulle instead of Bumble because it might look too brown on me, but it didn't. Ughh. I so love these lippies and let me tell you that they are so worth the hype :)

Colourpop packaging is almost always white. So, I think it's a good change that their ultra matte lippies come in a silver chrome cap with glass packaging. I think it makes it look high end. On the sad part, the silver chrome color and also the brand name rubs off over time. No worries there... it's not a biggie for me. Also, the description on the website says that you could apply this using a lip brush, but I don't really feel the need to. I think the doe foot applicator does a good job spreading the product evenly on the lips.

Okay, for the formula, I love that I don't have to work fast with these lippies. They're not super liquidy and they're not too thick as well. They dry powdery-matte unlike other liquid lipsticks that dry quite sticky. Also, they're kiss proof once dry. Try kissing the back of your hands while wearing this and there won't be any transfer. I swear -- I tried it! Haha. I've never had an issue with these products drying out my lips. They're actually quite comfortable even though they dry powdery matte. They don't feel heavy at all.

Now, for the pigmentation, Colourpop has a wide range of colors and I think all are very pigmented. Solow is quite light compared to Bumble, but I haven't had an issue with the lighter color being less pigmented. Longevity is amazing too because these lippies can withstand my 9-hour office day. Plus points because I can go home without reapplying it. Haha. My lips still look decent even if I already had two big meals that day. I never have to worry that my lipstick is gone after drinking coffee. What not to eat though when wearing these lippies? Ice cream. You'll just wonder where all the color went. Haha.

Final thoughts? I think the description fits these products perfectly. They're really lightweight on the lips unlike other brands. They are very pigmented, long-wearing and they don't make my lips super dry. They also don't stain and they're not very hard to remove. C'mon, we love longevity but lip products that stain too much are a pain in the arse. All in all, I'm in love with these ultra matte lips. Colourpop definitely provides us a good price for very good products. I want more Colourpop please! :)
