Rucy’s Vanity Pearl BB Cream, UV Suncream, Pearl Foundation

As requested, here's my take on the Korean brand Rucy’s Vanity that I got from @beyondstylish.

Products come in this super cute tiny squeeze out tube. The packaging’s actually good because you can control how much product you want and it’s very handy. You can use it on the go. Packaging is reflective too so you might not see the ingredients list on the rest of my pictures.

PA+++ means that these products contains ingredients that offers protection against UVA and UVB rays. The higher the + the better it is. SPF 50 on the sun cream and SPF 30 on the foundation and BB cream.

Manufacturing date can be seen at the top of the tubes. Ingredients are shown in the back, and hey, it has English instructions. Pretty good for such a little tube. At least I know how to use it unlike another Korean brand that I encountered which has no English caption at all! :P

Rucy’s Vanity UV Suncream

My thoughts:
Sun cream is really, really handy. Seriously, who uses those BIG bottles of sunblock for the face? And we all know that it would just be sitting on your shelves until the next time you go to the beach which let’s say would be like 8 months from your last visit to the beach! And the product inside just goes all watery and then you’d wonder if it’s already expired etc. Haha.

So this sun cream really is for the city chick or just the person that’s on the go and would like some protection their face. Mild scent. I actually like the smell. It doesn’t have glitters or shimmers. It doesn’t make your skin feel sticky or look a shade lighter like most sun creams do. It can also be a good base before putting foundation or BB cream.

My thoughts:
Contrary to what I heard (actually I've been warned by my friend with this product haha) she said that it had a lot of shimmer and that I might not want to use it alone, I actually think it’s okay to be used alone :P

I applied it without concealer, powder, primer so on, just this product alone and I was pretty impressed. The BB cream isn't of thick consistency compared to the Pearl Foundation. It’s not watery though. Consistency is just okay. I used it with a stippling brush and it’s not really a bother to apply and spread in the face.

As for coverage, very light, didn’t even hide my blemishes or evened out redness. I didn’t really think it covered anything unlike other BB creams. BUT, it did make my skin look glowy? Not glowy…hmm… LUMINOUS. Wow. Big word? Haha. Seriously, it wasn’t glittery but it had just a shine or glow… I can't really explain but luminous would be the best word for that! 9 hour wear time, I didn’t really look like a grease ball. It looked dewy but not oily so I give a thumbs up for oil control.

If you have dull skin, girl, you are in luck! Especially if you have clear skin, this would be a great product for you. It just gives you a natural glow!

I might not use it alone again because I do want and NEED coverage in my face so I think it’s best to be mixed with foundation or another BB cream or use it as highlighter. I applied it on top of my cheeks and yup, it really looked natural. Very on point.

Oh, by the way, don’t wear this on your whole face if there's going to be flash photography. The bigger shimmers still reflects. But if you’re in broad daylight, it won’t be a problem.

My thoughts:
Just like the BB cream, this foundation has shimmers. At first, I thought that the BB cream had more shimmers in it but when both are applied to my face, they just looked the same. The BB cream is actually of a grey/pink undertone but when blended out, it doesn’t show while this Pearl Foundation, you can immediately see that it has more of a yellow undertone.

Another thing that I noticed is that the BB cream was easier to blend and spread out compared to this Pearl Foundation. I also used a stippling brush with this one but it just had a thicker consistency. I applied it using my fingers first but I just gave up and used a brush because I feel like I have a better chance of making it even when I use a brush. Coverage is very light. No coverage? It didn’t cover any blemishes or evened out redness. Great oil control though. It made me look luminous and had a healthy glow. Mild scent. I actually like it.

In terms of flash photography, as you can see in the swatch below, the BB cream had more shimmers compared to this Pearl Foundation. I won’t use this alone but instead, I’ll be mixing it in other foundations for days where my skin is looking dull. Wore this for 9 hours without anything and I still looked okay by hour 9.

If you have clear and dull skin, again, this is gonna be your best friend! I felt like this had subtler shimmers compared to the BB cream but that’s just my observation. You can barely notice the difference when you apply it on your face. I won’t be using it as highlight like the Pearl BB Cream but I’d be sure to mix this with other foundations.
